چکیده
ABSTRACT We present the analysis of absorption troughs six outflows observed in quasar SDSS J1130 + 0411 ($z$ ≈ 3.98) with radial velocities ranging from −2400 to $-15\, 400$ km s−1. These spectra were taken Very Large Telescope/Ultraviolet and Visual Echelle Spectrograph over rest-frame wavelength range 1135–1890 Å. In main outflow system ($v$ −3200 s−1), we identify Fe ii several ii* troughs, as well Si which use determine electron number density $\log n_e = 2.6_{-0.7}^{+0.8}$ cm−3. Using column densities these other ions, a photoionization solution hydrogen N_H 21.44_{-0.33}^{+0.24}$ cm−2 ionization parameter U_H -1.75_{-0.45}^{+0.28}$. From values, derive distance $R 16_{-11}^{+23}$ kpc, average mass flow rate $\dot{M} 4100_{-2400}^{+6600}$ M⊙ yr−1, kinetic luminosity \dot{E}_k 46.13_{-0.37}^{+0.41}$ erg This $\dot{E}_k$ is $1.4_{-0.8}^{+2.2}$ per cent quasar’s Eddington luminosity, therefore contributes significantly AGN feedback.

A high - velocity narrow absorption line outflow in the quasar
We report on the discovery of a high-velocity narrow absorption line outflow in the redshift 2.3 quasar J212329.46 − 005052.9. Five distinct outflow systems are detected with velocity shifts from −9710 to −14 050 km s−1 and C IV λλ1548, 1551 linewidths of FWHM ≈ 62– 164 km s−1. This outflow is remarkable for having high speeds and a degree of ionization similar to broad absorption line (BAL) fl...
متن کاملEmergence of a Quasar Outflow
We report the first discovery of the emergence of a high-velocity broad-line outflow in a luminous quasar, J105400.40+034801.2 at redshift z ∼ 2.1. The outflow is evident in ultraviolet C iv and Si iv absorption lines with velocity shifts v ∼ 26, 300 km s and deblended widths FWHM ∼ 4000 km s. These features are marginally strong and broad enough to be considered broad absorption lines (BALs), ...
متن کاملUnusual high - redshift radio BAL quasar 1624 + 3758
We present observations of the most radio-luminous BAL quasar known, 1624+3758, at redshift z = 3.377. The quasar has several unusual properties: (1) The FeII UV191 1787-˚ A emission line is very prominent. (2) The BAL trough (BALnicity index 2990 kms −1) is detached by 21000 kms −1 and extends to velocity v =-29000 kms −1. There are additional intrinsic absorbers at-1900 and-2800 kms −1. (3) T...
متن کاملCounts of Low-redshift SDSS Quasar Candidates
We analyze the counts of low-redshift quasar candidates selected using nine-epoch SDSS imaging data. The co-added catalogs are more than 1 mag deeper than single-epoch SDSS data, and allow the selection of low-redshift quasar candidates using UV-excess and also variability techniques. The counts of selected candidates are robustly determined down to g=21.5. This is about 2 magnitudes deeper tha...
متن کاملThe SDSS-XMM Quasar Sample: First Results
We have searched in the XMM-Newton public archive for quasars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) First Data Release (DR1), and found 55 lying in the field of a XMM-Newton observation with exposure times >20 ksec (as of August, 2004). The 35 quasars which yielded good X-ray spectra span redshifts from 0.5 to 2.5. The large collecting area of XMM-Newton allows us to investigate the dependence...
